I’ve made posts in the past about how to order contacts online. Today, I’d like to talk about a related topic: eye health. We take our vision for granted, but we should all be more proactive about maintaining the health of our eyes. Below are some tips for maintaining optimal eye health.
1. Eat a healthy diet.
You should eat a well-balanced diet, and make sure you include lots of fruits and vegetables. Carrots are especially well-known for their ability to ensure good eye health. Shoot for five servings of fruits or vegetables daily. If you find this to be a difficulty goal to attain, consider taking supplements or better yet, getting a juicer. Juicing is a great, easy way to make sure you are getting your five servings every day.
2. Wear sunglasses.
You should wear sunglasses when outdoors, and UV rays can be damaging for our eyes. You don’t necessarily have to buy designer sunglasses, but avoid cheap sunglasses that don’t provide adequate protections. Make sure any pair of sunglasses you purchase provide good protection from UV rays.
3. If you wear contacts, maintain them properly.
Properly caring for your contacts includes taking them out every night, storing them in solution, and getting a new contact lens case every three months. Also, make sure you don’t wear lenses longer than you’re supposed to. For instance, don’t use a pair of lenses for 1 month is you are supposed to change them biweekly. 4. Take supplements for eye health.
Vitamin A is the most obvious supplement that everyone touts. However, I have had good results with other, less known supplements such as Lutein, Bilberry, and Astaxanthin.
