1. Eat a healthy diet.

Even if you have an offline business, people are bound to look for you online. Having a website will make you easy to find and increase your visibility.

The main thing is to create some sort of web presence so you can be found online. Start off with simple solutions, then build on top of that as your needs evolve.

It would be nearly impossible for anyone to intercept the data, and even if they did, they still won’t be able to make any sense out of whatever they get their hands on.

For the level of service provided, Carbonite is quite reasonably priced. A basic plan just costs $59 a year, which works out to about $5 a month. If you’re hesitate to put up money upfront, you can also get a free trial of Carbonite, which currently lasts for 15 days. What’s more, the service basically runs itself once the program is installed. Sure, setup can take a few minutes, but once you’re ready to go, you can simply go about your daily routine and not worry about making backups ever again.

Restoring lost data is a pretty straightforward process. I have not had to do it myself, but I’ve seen some videos on how to restore data, and it looks pretty simple. All in all, I think Carbonite is a great solution for people who work alone and don’t have the budget for a fancy backup or security solution.

While we’re on the topic of security and backing up data, I’d like to address the important issue of checking security. If you do not use secure checks or eChecks, you run the risk of having funds stolen from you through check fraud, which is all too common in this day and age. Securing your computer systems is vital, but you should couple this strategy by using the best, most secure checks you can obtain. There are plenty of items in great condition that sell for a fraction of the price you’d end up paying if you bought them new. The speed of service is becoming increasingly important in today’s fast-paced world. I remember times when you would have to wait a week or more, minimum, to get something printing. When you are done using the program, you will know exactly how much your refund will be. At that time, you can decide whether or not you want to purchase the program and submit the returns. However, with that said, most people do not qualify for the Turbotax Free Edition, so they will need to pay a fee if they decide to submit their returns.
